HOLISTIC MASSAGE
Sensory motion in a twilight zone
A holistic massage takes into account a person as a whole: mind, body and emotions. Not only are the different body parts connected through fascia, muscles, veins, nerves and bones but also thoughts and emotions can be stored in the physical body. Some symptoms are only related to the physical body but often the body reveals something related to the bigger system. A broken leg is clearly a physical injury but a migraine could be the result of a heavy workload, an emotional affliction. My holistic massage therapy can stimulate greater awareness of the interconnections.
This approach can be helpful in dealing with tension, insomnia, stress, burn-out, depression, headaches, migraine, PMS, menopause, fibromyalgia, sciatica, to treat injuries or simply to prevent discomfort and boost well-being. I recommend several sessions to find out what works for you and stimulate new insights. The massage is performed slowly so as to give you the opportunity to follow every move and become aware of how it moves you...
HOLISTIC OIL MASSAGE
Holistic Oil massage is performed on a massage table. It can be focussed on a specific aspect of the body or treat the whole body, depending on your wishes. Palpating, stroking, kneading and deeper trigger point work is combined. The pace is slow so that you as a receiver are able to follow every move. This enables a deeper connection and awareness of your own body. Possible sensations include a sense of lightness, relaxation, unexpected tension... countless possibilities which can change with each session.
THAI YOGA MASSAGE
The Thai massage I give is a holistic and accessible dynamic type of bodywork that uses a blend of techniques to achieve a state of relaxation and release in the body and the mind. Thai massage is performed fully clothed on top of a cushioned mat on the floor or a massage table, depending on the treatment. I gracefully guide you through a series of passive, yoga-like stretches, using my fingers, hands, forearms, elbows, knees, and feet to compress and palpate the muscles of the body. In addition, rhythmic rocking and targeted acupressure are used to replenish energy stores and enhance relaxation. Not to worry if you don't like yoga or feel stiff! I adapt the massage to your mind's and body's possibilities!
